Holding Your Retreat at Govinda Valley

Govinda Valley is the ideal place to hold your event/retreat. As a project dedicated to health and well-being we know what your group needs in terms of service, diet and facilities.

Govinda Valley extends to twenty acres of forest and landscaped gardens. Surrounding these are thousands of acres of the Royal National Park nature reserve. This is the second national park to have been created in the world, coming after Yellowstone in the United States. Here you can explore waterfalls, walking trails and the white, sandy beaches of the Illawarra coastline. You can also encounter indigenous wildlife such as cockatoos, azure kingfishers and wild deer that exist peacefully within our grounds.

Although our Retreat Centre is set within secluded woodlands, you can be in Sydney within one hour. There is a regular train from the nearby Otford Station into the centre of Sydney, which is a vibrant and welcoming city with a wide range of tourist attractions, such as the iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House. If you are flying into Sydney, you will find a convenient train route from the hub of the city to the healing calm of our centre.

Our facilities include a main building with a large, ground floor yoga hall and private rooms for guests. Upstairs is an additional small yoga hall and a dining room with a wrap-around balcony, which caters delicious vegetarian (or vegan) food for up to 75 people. Both yoga halls have stunning, panoramic views of the Australian bush. We also provide meeting rooms and spaces for massage.

Accommodation consists of two attached wings with a total of 18 rooms and a mixture of shared and ensuite facilities. In addition you can enjoy a variety of tranquil outdoor spaces, including sunny terraces, organic gardens and a beautiful amphitheater.

We are honoured to host over 80 groups per year, which span a wide range of interests. From business conferences to community groups, yoga teacher training to meditation, massage therapy to drumming workshops – we offer a warm welcome and healing space for all those who visit.
