For me, Govinda Valley is the easiest and most perfect place to support a state of yoga (the experience of connection) and has an abundance of special spots to practise yoga techniques in.
I found my special spot the first day I arrived and have been going there every morning ever since, to practise my asanas, pranayama and mantra meditation and to connect with myself, mother nature, tranquillity; with my bliss. This magical spot is found on my rolled out yoga mat, just below the beauty-full orchard (Terrace Garden), facing out onto the lush forest of the National Park.
Recently I heard there was a new outdoor yoga deck being built on the property somewhere, as an extra space for the large growing yoga community at Govinda Valley (in addition to the beautiful large and small yoga halls already provided). And you’ll never guess where it’s being built – yep, right there in front of my spot (I knew I couldn’t be the only one to recognise it as the perfect one).
How exciting, the wonderful volunteers with this craft as their expertise, have already started constructing it, using recycled timber for the structure and flooring – making it the perfect place to do sunrise and sunset yoga and even candlelit, under the moon and stars. Ahh wow, just when it can’t get any more perfect, it does.
I will keep you posted on its progress and in the meantime, you’ll know where to find me.
